DescriptionThe raised pear-shaped jug has a broad pouring lip and shaped rim and rests on a splayed foot. It has a cast handle in the form of a bound sheaves of bamboo and bamboo borders around the neck and foot rim. The body of the jug has visible hammer marks and is applied with cast bamboo canes and insects and a vase containing flowers and plum branches. The insects and foliage are picked out in gold, while the ground is left white, and the interior of the jug is gilt.

On underside, maker's mark FE (Jones, p. 335); anchor, date letter e; lion passant; sovereign's head.
