DescriptionThe spoon has a fig-shaped bowl and a tapering hexagonal stem. The finial depicts Saint James the Less (or Bartholomew?) holding a knife in his right hand and a book in his left. On the top of the nimbus is a dove. The bowl and stem of the spoon are forged from a single piece. The finial and nimbus are cast separately and applied. Traces of gilding remain on the finial.
