DescriptionThe rectangular tea caddy is formed from two molded diagonal pieces. The circular opening at the top has a collar that is fitted with a flat-topped circular cover. The sides of the caddy are painted with a turquoise ground edged in gold with four quatrefoil panels reserved in white. The white shoulders of the caddy are painted with forget-me-nots in blue, yellow, and green. On the top of the cover, within a gold circle, is a scene depicting a man and a woman, wearing puce and iron-red garments, standing in a flat, open landscape. Landscape scenes in blue, blue-gray, green, yellow, and puce fill the four panels on the sides of the caddy. In each, two figures may be seen from the back. In three of the quatrefoils, a brown and iron-red tree frames the left side of the scene; in the fourth, a green tree and a stone building fill the left side of the panel. In each scene there are small clusters of blue-gray clouds in the sky, and a small flock of' birds flies above the clouds.
