DescriptionThe square waiter rests on four scrolled feet and has a molded flared rim with shaped corners. The body and rim are engraved with strapwork, scrolls and flowers. The waiter is formed from sheet with an applied cast rim and cast feet.

On underside, leopard's head crowned; date letter a; maker's mark PL (Grimwade 2203); lion passant.
InscriptionsARMORIALS: engraved on center of salver, the arms of a son of Sir Theodore Janssen (ca. 1658-1748), probably Stephen, (d. 1777) and his wife, Catherine, daughter of Col. Soulgere of Antigua (married before 1757). Engraved in four corners, the crest of Janssen.
