DescriptionThe hexagonal globular body, assembled from heavily cast panels, seamed vertically, rests on a hexagonal foot. Each panel has a shaped oval reserve enclosing a roughly rendered landscape depicting a small figure on horseback, a bridge, and a pagoda against a matted ground. The cast angular, faceted spout and handle are similarly decorated. The teapot has a hexagonal neck and a flat hexagonal cover, joined by a chain to the handle, with a globe finial. The neck, cover and finial all have cast landscape panels.

On underside, maker's mark WE (Grimwade 3101); date letter T (repeated on bezel); sovereign's head; leopard's head crowned; lion passant (repeated on bezel).
