DescriptionThe oval bombé body rests on four scrolled feet. The lower section of the body is raised and chased with fluting. Four female busts draped with garlands of flowers are cast in pieces and applied above the feet. The upper section of the body has a pierced trellis pattern with chased rosettes on the intersections of the trellis work. Over the trellis pattern are chased large floral swangs. The scrolled handles on either end are heavily cast and chased with similar floral pattern and secured to the body with nuts and bolts. The undulating rim of the basket is outlined with a twisted rope border that is cast in sections, large cast acanthus leaves on either end and smaller acanthus leaves in the center of each longer side. A plain plated liner fits inside the body.
