DescriptionTrade sampler. Fine white linen ground on which initials, ciphers, and coronets are worked with white linen in satin stitch. Some names have German, some have English form. Embroidered with initials, ciphers, and coronets worked in satin stitch. Initials in center "A.R." possibly for Adelaide Regina, wife of William IV, Adelaide of Saxe-Melningen, married in 1818, formed by roses, thistles, and shamrocks. embroidered in satin stitch and cutwork with needlelace fillings.
