DescriptionThis image is a fragment of a larger photograph of three members of the Coldstream Guards, who served in the British forces during the Crimean War. The work is part of a large series of Crimean War veterans that Queen Victoria commissioned from Cundall and Howlett, and which were reproduced in photogravure.
The identification of the sitter derives from notations to a salted paper print of the image held in the Royal Collections (RCIN 2500203).
