NOTE: RIchard Maxson was a renowned world traveler and tour leader who acquired works of art on his various trips. In 1960 he opened his collection to the public in what was called the World Travel Museum in Amherst, MA. He later opened the Treasury of Travel Museum (North Amherst, MA) and the World Museum (Northfield, MA) to showcase his collection.
