DescriptionBound section (juz' 18) from a dispersed thirty-volume Qur'an made for the library of Zangid sultan of Sinjar, Qutb al-Din Muhammad ibn Zangi (r. 1198–1219); folios from other sections of the Qur'an added at a later date; illuminated frontispiece and finispiece; 92 total folios; each folio contains 5 lines of Arabic calligraphy in thuluth and New Style (Eastern Kufic) script written with gold and outlined in black ink; illuminated rosette verse markers; illuminated margin medallions. Leather binding with flap.
