DescriptionHead of a limestone statuette of a female worshipper in the northern Mesopotamian style. She wears a turban (that has been reworked). The eyes and eyebrows were originally inlaid. Part of an inscription is preserved on the right shoulder. Prominent citizens deposited figures, standing or seated with hands clasped, in temples as effigies of themselves in an attitude of permanent devotion to the deity.
