DescriptionHerakles and Triton struggling in presence of draped female and draped male figure. Greek inscriptions in the field. Behind the Nereid, vertically, "Elparetos kalos" (ELPAR[E]T[OS] KALOS); above Triton's tail, "Mnesila" (M[N]ESILA); below, "kale"; to the left of Triton's head, "Amthoe" (AMPHITHOE) (for Amphithoe); to the right of Herakles, "kalos" (KALOS); below, vertically, "Choiron kalos" (CHOIRON KALOS).
Below main picture a narrow band of figures; on shoulder a quadriga with driver in white chiton, flanked by groups of three dismounted battling warriors, the center one of each group sinking to one knee.
