DescriptionThis outstretched, nude left arm is bent slightly upwards at the elbow. The middle, ring, and pinky fingers are curled inwards and the index finger is outstretched, suggesting that the hand may once have grasped an object (possibly cylindrical in shape). The palm faces up.

Condition: broken off around the middle of the upper arm. An irregular crack encircles most of the wrist. Green patina overall, with brown accretions over some areas. Cracks and holes are visible at the elbow, along the top of the forearm, and on the top of the hand. Tips of the index and pinky fingers appear crushed.
ProvenanceBy date unknown: with Edward Perry Warren (according to Warren's records: Said to be from Hieron near Trebizond.); gift of Edward Perry Warren to MFA, 1896
