DescriptionLimestone statuette of a woman named Ta-Seket. Some pigment remains showing black hair and details, white dress held by straps over the shoulders, and red-brown base and back pillar; broken above ankles; mended. Text carried on back pillar reads: "A gift which the king gives to Osiris, Lord of Abydos, for the ka of Ta-Seket, justified."
ProvenanceFrom Hiw, Tomb Y 524. 1898–99; excavated by Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund; assigned to the Egypt Exploration Fund by the government of Egypt; 1899: given to the MFA by the Egypt Exploration Fund.
