DescriptionPart of an embroidered bedspread of thin white cotton cloth ground with design in chain stitch with polychrome silks, dark bluish-green and deep rose-red predominating; most of ground filled with large-scale design of slender scrolling branches bearing flowers, birds and curling leaves; decorative birds in interspaces; deep border design, fragmentary, of rocky landscape with animals; marked for quilting in lozenge design but with quilting stitches no longer present.
