DescriptionAmerican, mid 19th about 1840. Fabric 18th century Spitalfields brocade, blue ground, horizontal interlacing ribbon and floral serpentines, brocaded with white and brilliant polychrome silks, tightly fitted bodice coming to V in center front, hooked down center back, wide flaring neckline, elbow length sleeves with sleeve ruffles shaped like those of the 18th century, full skirt with fullness gathered evenly all around.
