DescriptionSpanish Arabic, 11-12th c, believed to have come from the Church of St. Librada, Almerica, Spain. Fragment with two incomplete large roundels joined by interlace. Interior pattern includes large bird, 4 bands of script, 2 roundels with cats(?). Bird with human face times around roundel. Secondary rosette motif.
ProvenanceSaid to come from the Cathedral of Siguenza, Guadalajara, Spain [see note]. By 1951, Paul O. Berliz (dealer), New York; 1953, sold by Paul Berliz to the MFA. (Accession Date: January 8, 1953)
