DescriptionThe plate's decoration is carried out in black, blue, green and raised red. On the underside of the cavetto is a ring of ten motifs of two types, drawn in black and filled in green. The two types are the closed crescent and a vestigial plant. The face of the dish is decorated in polychrome and in three registers. The rim shows a version of the originally Chinese rock and wave design in black, with small blue and green inclusions. The cavetto, separated on both sides by double circular black lines, is largely unpainted but shows a ring of leaf-like shapes in all three colors next to the well. This features two large, opposed curling saz leaves in reserve but with areas painted red and several small leafy medallions - and half-medallions - “disappearing“ under the cavetto. The ground of the well is filled with scales, colored green outside the large leaves and blue within.
