DescriptionRed wool ground with design of dentated white and blue lines forming diamonds. In each diamond is a smaller diamond made up of two green and two blue triangles. On the corners are tassels of red, yellow and green wool.
ProvenanceBetween about 1885 and 1898, probably acquired by John Ware Willard (b. 1859 - d. 1914), Brookline, MA [see note]; 1912, gift of John Ware Willard to the MFA. (Accession Date: November 7, 1912)
NOTE: Willard worked as a mining engineer in California (voter registers show him in Calaveras County) and the American Southwest between 1885 and 1898.
