DescriptionThe official Tjutju is portrayed seated, wearing an enveloping ankle-length cloak and striated wig. The facial features are characteristic of the early New Kingdom. An inscription wraps entirely around the base of the statue, including Tjutju's name and titles and an offering formula.
Provenance1979: purchased by the MFA at Christie, Manson and Woods auction January 25, 1979 (Important Classical, Western Asiatic and Egyptian Antiquities, cat. no. 199, pp. 69-71).
