The shapes of pewter relate directly to contemporaneous English silver, ceramics, and glass. With a particularly prestigious provenance from the Ledlie Laughlin collection of pewter, the spire flagon is notable in its size and elegant proportions, including an exaggerated curl under the top handle.
DescriptionA spire flagon of the earlier style with a single curved handle, a boot heel terminal, a closed chair thumbpiece and a double-domed lid surmounted by a baluster knop.
