Culling his sources from images of Italy, the artist brings together shepherd, ruins, waterfalls, stone bridges, and trails of clouds to compose an ideal arcadian landscape. Three carved woodblocks, printed one after the other, give this fantasy landscape the appearance of a wash drawing.
