[1] This is one of four evangelist portraits from the same Bible, which were owned by Daguerre in the early twentieth century and were later purchased by Bourgeois Galleries. The others are at the Montreal Museum of Art (Saint Mark), McGill University Redpath Library (Saint John), and the MFA (Saint Luke, accession no. 19.118).
