DescriptionWoolen warp and weft; ground white; design woven in red, dark and light blue, green, pink, yellow, brown and white. The fragment shows a roundel and a shoulder (?) band. The roundel encloses a central circle surrounded by four smaller ones.The central circle encloses an animal (?) and one of the smaller circles encloses a cross. The three others enclose indistinct motifs. The areas between the four circles show stylized plant forms and fish. The design in the shoulder band (?) consists of geometric motifs. Probably a fragment of a garment. Design shows Byzantine influence. Importation 204.
