DescriptionWarp of linen; design of linen and wool; ground of the main border is of red wool. On this is a draped figure with a halo and an angel (?), of green, yellow, orange and dark blue wool and natural-colored linen. The main design is framed by two bands, one with scrolls enclosing animal head motifs (?) of brownish yellow wool and the other with heart-shaped floral motifs in red and green wool; ground of the borders are of brown and light yellow wool and natural-colored linen. Probably a sleeve band. Design shows Byzantine influence. This piece has been sewed recently to a fragment of white woolen tapestry across one end of which is a stripe of grayish brown.
