DescriptionWoven with white linen; and violet and red wool. The middle border has a white ground with a guilloche design of violet, detailed with white. The outer borders are violet, with a guilloche design outlined in white. In the middle is a white animal with a tail, a red eye, and a projecting tongue. Probably a shoulder band (clavus). The design shows Roman influence.
