DescriptionTwo shoulder bands. Warp is linen; the ground of the main areas is deep pink wool and that of the borders is pale yellow. The design shows a branching grape vine with men on one side and animals on the other. The men facing the animals on each band play music on a pipe (the god Pan ?), hold plants and dance (?); the animals are probably dogs, bulls, goats (?) and a spotted animal, probably a cheetah in one band; the borders enclose connected leaves; design is woven with red, blue, light green, yellow, and light and dark brown wool and natural-colored linen. Design shows Roman influence.
