DescriptionChair seat of cotton and linen twill (fustian) embroidered with wool (crewelwork) in stag and rabbit seated on rolling hills at bottom in green, yellow, and blue bands with leaves, strawberries, and flowers; large peacock standing on flowering stump on left and fruited tree with large rose on right; small red bird and pink butterfly in upper right; most of design in New England laid stitch or Roumanian couching with thinner lines in satin and stem/outline stitch; made to go with 19.67 and 19.596-610; cotton weft is vertical and linen warp is horizontal because textile was rotated 90 degrees before embroidering
