A Transatlantic Clipper at Miami, Fla.


One of the fleet of giant trans-Atlantic flying Clipper ships which used Miami's tropically located International Air Terminal when Northern harbors were ice-bound. These are the world's largest flying ships, having a wing spread of 152 feet and weigh (loaded) 82,000 pounds; passenger capacity of 70; cover the 4,000 miles to Europe in a little more than a day.
