The Army's Largest "Flying Fortress" Boeing-B-17C


A striking overhead flight view of the "Flying Fortress" as it leaves Mitchel Field. This same airplane has a wing spread of 150 feet and a probable cruising-range of over 4,000 miles. The Flying Fortress made a 3,000 mile non-stop flight from Panama to Chile.
