DescriptionSample of cotton batik. The design consists of an elaborate diagonal lattice enclosing star forms printed with neutral orange, light neutral orange, dark blue and black.
Provenance1921, sold by Prince Ario Kusumodiningrat (b. circa 1860), Surakarta, to Ananda K. Coomaraswamy (b. 1887 - d. 1947) for the MFA. (Accession date: April 7, 1921)
