DescriptionTwo yellow wool fragments. One is a shoulder band (clavus) woven with brown wool and ending with a medallion. The designs inside the clavus consist of squares alternating with octagons woven with neutral-colored linen and yellow wool. The frame consists of repeated loop-like designs and the medallion at the end of the band encloses an octagonal motif. Two crosses flank the narrow band that ends with the medallion.Torn and has two holes.
The other tapestry is probably a sleeve band (22.290a) woven in red wool. It probably belonged to another garment, which included a similar design of squares alternating with octagons. Details in yellow wool are produced by a flying shuttle.
