U.S.S. JOHN W. THOMASON (DD-760) The first destroyer of the Pacific Fleet to undergo the Navy's Fleet Rehabilitation and Modernization Program. Provided with a helicopter deck, the THOMASON is equipped to handle small Anti-Submarine Warfare Helicopters. Originally built as a general purpose destroyer of the Sumner class by Bethlehem Steel, San Francisco, Calif. Commissioned October 11, 1945.
