U.S. NAVY. Cruiser "Brooklyn."


CRUISER "BROOKLYN." An armored cruiser, 400 feet long and 64 feet wide, with a displacement of 9,215 tons. Built at Philadelphia, and cost about $2,986,000. Speed, about 22 knots per hour. Horse-power, 18,769. Her 41 officers and 550 men handle eight 8-inch and twelve 5-inch guns, besides various smaller guns.
