The latest achievement in the annals of exploration, the discovery of the North Pole, adds another name to the long list of indomitable explorers who have braved the hardships of the Arctic Regions in the cause of Science. Dr. F. A. Cook (a name already famous in the history of discovery) is an American, and was born in Callicoon Depot, Sullivan County, New York, in 1865. He claims to have reached the North Pole on April 21st, 1908, and as the first to arrive at this goal his name must for ever stand high in the roll of Polar Exploration.
