JOHN CALVIN COOLIDGE 29th PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES Born in Plymouth Notch, Vermont on July 4, 1872, John Calvin Coolidge was elected Vice-President under President Harding in 1920, assuming the role of President after Harding's sudden death on August 2, 1923. He was re-elected President in 1924. Living a quiet life Coolidge died at Northampton, Mass. on January 5, 1933 at the age of 59.
