ABRAHAM LINCOLN, sixteenth President of the U. S. Elected twice. Inaugurated for the first time March 4, 1861 and entered on his second term March 4, 1865.


ABRAHAM LINCOLN was born in Larue Co., Kentucky on Feb. 12, 1809. He was 52 years of age when first inaugurated, and was the first President elected by the new (or what is now) the Republican party. During his administration there occurred the Civil War and the abolition of slavery. He served but a little more than a month of his second term when he was assassinated while at theatre and died on April 15,1865.
