WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON was born in Berkeley, Va. on Feb. 9, 1773, but was elected from Ohio. He was nominated by the Whig party and received 234 electoral votes out of 304. His death occurred on April 4, 1841, one month after his inauguration, and he was the first President to die in office.
