DescriptionSquare medallion of purple wool on a white woolen ground; the design consists of a central roundel enclosing eight vases which alternate with vine leaves and a smaller circle with four cone-shaped and vine leaf motifs; a square with a bird (duck ?) in each of its four corners frames the roundel; scrolls enclosing animals (hares, lions, deer ?) frame the central square; the legs of the birds on the corners of the square and the tongues of some of the animals in the scrolls are in red wool.
