First size Metropolitan Piston Engine, built in 1905. Diameter of pumps, 5 1/2 in.; steam-cylinders, 9 in.; stroke, 8 in. Drawn by three horses, fitted with rubber tires, and weighs, ready for service, 10,600 lbs. Placed in service May 1st, 1905. Hose-wagon built in 1902. Drawn by two horses, is fitted with rubber tires and roller-bearing axles. Carries 800 ft. of 2 1/2-in. hose. Weighs, ready for service, 3,200 lbs. Placed in service June 15, 1892. Company consists of 1 Capt., 1 Lieut., 5 Hose-men, 1 Engine-Man, 1 Asst. Engine-Man, 1 engine Driver and 1 Hose-Driver.
