DescriptionSampler worked on loose natural linen with polychrome silks in cross stitch, at top two rows of alphabet letters and Arabic numerals, rest of sampler filled with great variety of motifs in different scales including fox, double headed eagle, under crown spining monkey, deer, bird with flower in beak, stylized trees, many carrying grapes, etc.; in center bottom name HAART and date dec (?) 12, 1760. Stitches: cross.
