InscriptionsThere is a series of about 10 chalk hash marks of varying lenght on the underside of the lid, along with a column of numbers that might be an addition column. The numbers 13 and 9, and a plus (+) symbol, as well as some short rules and other numbers are present. The interior is lined with fragments of a New York newspaper dated November 19-23, 1852.
