DescriptionCircular medal of Louis XIV (1638-1715), king of France, commemorating his efforts to settle a dispute between the Jansenists and Jesuits.
Obverse: Profile bust of Louis XIV looking to proper left; inscribed at edge "LUDOVICUS XIIII·REX CHRISTIANISSIMUS·" and under bust "I·MAVGER·F·".
Reverse: An altar at center with two keys and two scepters placed on top of it, dove flying above; inscribed at edge "RESTITUTA ECCLESIAE GALLICANAE CONCORDIA" and in exergue "M·DC·LXIX·".
