DescriptionCircular medal of Marie de'Medici (1573-1642). Beaded rim on both faces.
Obverse: Part of face sunken in. Profile bust of Marie de'Medici looking to proper left, wearing high-collared dress and a widow's cap; inscribed at edge "MARIA AVG·GALLIAE ET NAVARAE REGINA" and under bust "G·DVPRE·1615".
Reverse: A masted ship among rough seas and being blown by the wind (represented at proper right); on ship at proper right is Cybele, steering naked men and women as passangers; inscribed at edge "SERVANDO DEA FACTA DEOS".
