DescriptionCircular medal of Cardinal George d'Amboise (1460-1510), commemorating when King Louis XII ordered him to govern Milan (1500). Beaded rim on both faces.

Obverse: Profile bust of Cardinal d'Amboise looking to proper right, wearing a short cap; inscribed at edge "GEORGIVS·DAMBOISE·S·AE·R·CARD". [Georges d'Amboise Cardnial of the Holy Roman Church].

Reverse: View of a Milan with the sun and rays above; inscribed at edge in a band "·SALVAT·VBI*LVCET·1500·" and in exergue "MEDIOL". [He saves where he illuminates, 1500; Milan].
