DescriptionPieced quilt in with abstract triangular composition. Central triangles in solid yellow and brown/black plain textiles with radiating orange and blue and muted brown triangles in plaids adn other woven patterns. Triangles in the upper corners in solid pink and purple textiles at centers with orange bases and brown outer triangle. Horizontal bands in a range of colors. Inner border of soid blue textile and out border of woven stripe in muted brown and purple.
Provenance1976-1977, made by Molly Upton (b. 1953 - d. 1977) in either Cambridge, MA or Oakland, CA; 1977, by inheritance to her mother, Rusty Upton; 2017, gift of the Upton family to the MFA. (Accession date: October 11, 2017)
