DescriptionCoin was minted to commemorate Licinia Eudoxia, wife of Valentinian III (Emperor of the Roman West) and daughter of Theodosius II (Emperor of the Roman East), was named Augusta (empress). This is a rare coin because it has a woman represented twice: on the front as a bust and on the reverse (photo) as enthroned holding orb and scepter--a visual prototype for the enthroned Virgin Mary.
