DescriptionStanding male figure with left hand on hip and right arm raised with hand bent to hold an object. Cast in two pieces, chased minimally, and soldered. The figure wears a short windswept tunic with rippling parallel folds, a V-neck, and a hood exposing only the face. His right leg is bent and placed slightly in front of the left, which is turned outward. The face is modeled crudely with small oval eyes, triangular nose, straight mouth and roughly incised bangs and short beard. A small boss on the right shoulder with traces of solder probably held an object in place.
Provenance1957, Galerie St. Christoph, Vienna; 1957, sold by Galerie St. Christoph to the MFA for $175. (Accession Date: October 9, 1957)
