PAUL REVERE: born in Boston, 1735; died, 1818; acquired his fame by his ride from Boston to Lexington in April, 1775, to arouse the minutemen. This ride was celebrated by Longfellow in the poem "Midnight Ride of Paul Revere," published in "Tales of a Wayside Inn."
