DescriptionStamped bedcover; undyed cotton and undyed linen. The bedcover is composed of two widths of cloth hand sewn in the center. Hemmed on all sides with cotton crocheted fringe hand sewn to three sides. The central motif is composed of five large medallions, two at either end and in the center one with small medallions on either side. The large medallions have a brown triangular design on the edge and a floral and brown heart
design in the center. The small medallions use a simplified version of the center design of the large medallions. Secondary motifs include blue pinwheel type flowers. The border contains a semi-circular design that is used in the medallions and combines it with a floral pattern of green, red, and blue. The semi-circles are brown. The spread was spun by Nancy Clark, born near Cincinnati, Ohio. The spread was given to her grandaughter. The spread was then given to Luetta C. Anderson who was supposed to give it to Margaret Morgan. The bedcover was ultimately bought at Pam Boynton Antiques for twelve thousand and five hundred dollars.
